FOURTH OF JULY OUTFIT GUIDE
The Fourth of July is just around the corner! And it feels like we were just celebrating Memorial Day the other week. This summer is already flying by! While the ultimate summer holiday is still a week and a half away, why not start planning your weekend outfits now?
Restrictions are loosening up and the weather is getting a lot warmer, so there are plenty of ways to celebrate the holiday weekend! If you're going to the beach, attending a barbeque, or having the family over for dinner, Mad Hatter has plenty of outfit ideas to inspire you!
BEACH OUTFIT
Most of the Delco area this time of year is seen at the Jersey shore. So, they are definitely going to be spending the biggest holiday of the summer at the beach. While realistically they might be wearing a bathing suit all weekend, they might need some clothing items to throw on to go to the beach bar, for when it gets a little chilly at night, or the perfect post-beach, post-shower outfit. The Lightweight Striped Longsleeve Top is perfect to put on when the beach starts to get a little chilly. And you can’t go wrong with a pair of denim shorts, the ultimate summer staple, to put on over your bikini bottoms. The Lainey Distressed Shorts are perfect not just for the weekend, but for the summer. To complete the look, you need a pair of slides for the beach, like the Champagne Sandals. They can easily be wiped free of sand from the beach, but also super cute to wear at night!
HOLIDAY BBQ
What comes to mind when I think of the 4th of July is hot dogs, hamburgers, and watermelon. I picture a bunch of parents out in the heat sipping a refreshing beverage while their kids are in the pool or playing in the backyard. For this type of holiday activity, you need to be as comfortable as you can, but also dressed appropriately in case you have to run after a kid or two. I think the Bethany Frill Top is the most effortless and comfortable top to put on for an afternoon outside. It can be paired with so many different bottoms, so it can definitely be a staple for your closet. To dress it up a little, I would pair it with our Linen Shorts with Striped Belt. It makes the outfit a little more put together, and gives it a little added touch with the belt. To add one more detail to the outfit, I think the Sweet Cherry Beaded Earrings are the most adorable accessory. They give some more color without being too over the top.
DINNER WITH THE FAMILY
Maybe this holiday is usually spent with your family, and you don’t have much going on. You could make a fun night out of it and make dinner plans this holiday! It will give you the excuse to dress up and look super put together. This is the perfect occasion to finally bring out your favorite summer sundress. I chose the Striped Midi Dress because I love the cut of it, and it can be dressed up or down. And the navy stripes are a cute detail that subtly celebrates the holiday. I think with this dress with a pair of hoops would look amazing, so I opted for the Wavi Earrings. They’re not your typical gold or silver hoops, but they are white acrylic. They stand out more than simple hoops, especially with the wavy design. In order to make this outfit casual, I would wear the Lincoln Sandals, especially if it’s a casual dinner in the shore town. But don’t be afraid to spice it up with a pair of wedges or strappy sandals if you’re feeling up to it!
A NIGHT OUT AT THE BARS
FINALLY we are seeing a bunch of things opening up, including the bars. So you know they are going to be packed with people trying to make the most of their holiday. While the focus of your night is going to be having fun with your friends, first we have to think of what to wear. The outfits have to be top notch, because finally people will get to see how good you look! We have a few suggestions for you. I would recommend wearing a simple crop top like the Beth Cropped Tank. This is simple yet sexy, and can be accessorized in many different ways. To pair with this tank, I love the Two Tone Denim Jeans. It gives a little something extra to your everyday pair of denim. This outfit together is so simple, so I love adding a bunch of jewelry. The Ariel Gold Bracelet is the cutest gold bracelet that still shows some holiday spirit. What I love about this bracelet is that it can be paired with a bunch of other bracelets because while it stands out, it’s still simple. Lastly, I would wear the Star Huggie Earrings to match the bracelet, and bring the whole outfit together. This outfit makes anyone look amazing, and you don’t even look like you tried to hard!
CHILL DAY
You don’t have to have elaborate plans to make this Fourth of July memorable. Most likely, I will be spending it with my family at our house and having fun out in the sun. And best of all, I can just be in comfy clothes all day! While some of us are just going to be staying at home this holiday, you might still want to dress festive. One of my favorite items that is festive for the Fourth of July are the Baby Blues Leisure Shorts. I think they are the cutest shorts ever! To go with your comfy lounge shorts, I would wear a white tank top or tshirt. I would wear the Hayden Open Back Top because it’s not restrictive, so you can eat and drink as much as you want! Just for a little accessory I would add the North Star Earrings. They’re nothing super big or excessive, but they just match your shorts so well! They’re the perfect everyday earring that you can continue to wear months after the holiday.
